A Little Help!

Hey Science Friends,
You know first thing is first... Before you can be the awesome Science teacher you have to have some routines in place. And when you have some of those things out of the way you can get down to some serious science business. We all know that it is the little things that can really make a successful year. I have always wanted to redo my Classroom Helpers but I have never really got around to it. This summer has been a whirlwind of to-do's and when I saw the graphics with a weather reporter I just had to update my file. I swear I could not resist. I think I am still excited over it. The good news is that this file is print and go and I mean it in every since of the word. You can have a little helper system up and running in a flash.
This download includes premade pocket chart headers for:
Super Sweeper
Class Librarian
Mail Carrier
Pencil Sharpener
Class Recycler
Computer Helper
Door Holder
Plant Helper
Line Leader
Pet Helper
Teacher Helper
Calendar Helper
Flag Helper
Light Helper
Snack Helper
Table Helper
Weather Reporter
Or...Create your own! Yes, I said you could create your own catchy job titles and still use the same format because the second part of this file is editable. It is pretty simple just edit, print and go! The graphics stay the same but maybe you call your teacher helper a material manager. It's ok, no problem just change it in the editable field to have a custom set of your own! No worries and no fears. You get what you can create. I love that. If you want a technology wiz instead of a computer helper then go for it. The colored graphics are not editable but the text is.
All you have left is to do is get some clothespins to ditty up and add names to so you can show who is the proud helper of the day. And once everyone knows what to do you can get on to being the awesome science teacher that you always were! If you need more info just click on the image above!

Science Play Series!

Hey Science Friends,
Isn't it exciting when you find new books to add to your collection especially when those books are Science books. I love to have new titles to pass on to my librarian in hopes that she adds it to her order list and lucky for me she usually does. I always have a running list of Science books on my wish list and now I am adding a few more. From the previews I can see that these will be books that I can tie into a Science lesson and books that I know the kids will love. These picks come from a series called Science Play by Vicki Cobb.

What new Science books have you found?

Texas TEKS I Can Statement Objectives!

The new Math TEKS for 2014-2015 have been added just in case you and your friends are getting a jump on things!
I have been busy to say the least. I have been working on the summer "to do" list and making some good progress. One thing I had on my list last year was to type up all of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Statements into "I Can" statements and have them ready to go for the school year. Last year I never quite got around to it. This summer has been different. I have made myself complete the most important things on my list. I am so excited that this is finally crossed off my list and in this respect I am ready for a new year!
All I have to do now is decide what pocket chart I am going to put these in and print, cut and laminate and I will be ready for a year of posted objectives. And they are all there, every single cotton pickin' one of those objectives!
Language Arts
Social Studies
I have even made nifty little pockets for each subject that I can staple up on my objective board and hold each set of subject objectives so that I can dash in on Monday morning and find my current objectives and post them in a quick, fast minute before any "walk through" takes place! I am thrilled to not have to think or worry about having the current objective up when needed or typing them out one by one on lesson planning night! And with these little clip on stars, you can let those "objective detectives" know exactly where you are on each objective by clipping these right next to each standard. How fun is that?
These objectives fit perfectly in a scheduling pocket chart or two Target Dollar Spot pocket charts! You may be able to post all of your objectives in one Dollar Spot pocket chart if you do not have to post every subject!
Got ya covered even if you have to tell the "objective detectives" just exactly "how" you will accomplish those goals too! Just type in the editable field and let them know how all this teaching magic is going to happen! So, if you are like me and you want to cross this off your list and you need more information just click on the picture!
Until next time!
